Narrator: If the child is Vietnamese, then Angelina Jolie gets first dibs…

Meet the Spartans
AMC Stony Brook – January 25, 2008

Ugh. Not even worth the time to write a review, nor worth your time reading it.

The entire movie was a direct parody of 300, a movie I had not previously seen. Having seen Gladiator, I could sort out enough of what was supposed to be funny. Emphasis on “supposed to.” A fan of the Scary Movie empire (a few exceptions being Scary Movie 2 which was eh, and Date Movie which was simply atrocious!), I came to this thinking it wouldn’t be terrible, or at least hit or miss joke-wise.

Sprinkled with pop culture references like Crazy Britney Spears, this attempt at ancient war movies could have been SOOOOOOOOO much better. The latent homosexual jokes got really old REALLY fast. The skipping army just lends itself to a comparison to Monty Python’ Holy Grail, which was infinitely better used.

Carmen Electra. What can I say? Playing the stupid trophy wife will not win you an Oscar, but I guess there only so much sex you can have before you get bored and want extracurricular activities.

Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I’m stopping so that I can get the horrible taste out of my mouth from thinking about this awful waste of film.

RATING: */5 (One star for the 4 or 5 jokes I actually laughed at.)
Recommendation: AVOID THIS TRAIN WRECK!
